City Council Vacancy – Notice of Appointment Process

The City of Elkhart has a vacancy on the City Council due to the resignation of Council Member Brad Campbell, effective December 31, 2025. In accordance with Iowa law, the remaining City Council members intend to fill the vacancy by appointment.

Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at noon. Eligible applicants must be residents and qualified electors of the City of Elkhart.

The City Council will consider applicants and make an appointment at its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Community Center. The appointment will be effective immediately upon approval.

Interested individuals must submit a letter of interest and resume to the City Clerk at Elkhart City Hall (260 NW Main St, Elkhart, IA) or email them to Kwilson@cityofelkhart.com by the application deadline.
